Dr. Goyal is a confident, well-educated bariatric professional who knows his craft. He made sure that both my husband and I knew the risks of surgery as well as the benefits. Dr. Goyal is a Godsend. My first time meeting him was at his seminar at Overlook Hospital. He went over many details and showed the difference btw lap and and gastric bypass. His staff is competent and helpful. When I had my first appointment with him in his office the first thing I noticed was his wonderful bedside manor. He speaks honestly and openly about your choices and wants to make sure you are ready. His partner Br. Boulay is also wonderful and sat with my mother and I for 45 minutes going over the complications and surgery. I never felt nervous or uneasy in dealing with him. He is very strict on his aftercare. He runs support groups both in person and online. He will give you his cell in case you have any problems. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a doctor.

Dr. Goyal and Dr. Boulay were awesome. Dr. Goyal stayed a few minutes late just to meet and talk to me, and he was even at the support group and the seminar. Everyone at the office seems awesome and ready willing and able to jump in to help me get everything I need to be ready for the surgery.  Some of the girls from his office even came to the seminar too. I will say that Dr. Goyal seems like one tough cookie (no pun intended) he does not fool around with the aftercare. Isn’t the whole point of this - A LIFE CHANGE !!! IF U WANT THIS TO WORK U HAVE TO FOLLOW THE RULES...

I was 21 years old and weighed 213 pounds. I have tried every diet out there and then realized that I needed more help than dieting could give me. I looked up information on the surgery and decided to give it a go. I met with Dr. Goyal and his staff and felt comfortable immediately. I have been overweight all of my life. I had uncontrollable insulin dependent diabetes. Since having the lap band on November 23, 2005, I am reading normal blood sugar levels and have not needed to take any insulin. Dr. Goyal is excellent. He is kind, professional, and has great bedside manners.  However he does have high expectations of his staff members who in turn are excellent with his patients. He expects you to follow all of the guidelines for this procedure and if you don't...watch out. He does not play. I highly recommend him to anyone.

Before having surgery I was not very confident. I didn't like going place, I always felt tired, and I had knee and ankle pain. My entire quality of life has improved. My surgeon is sooo great. He has made me feel important before and after surgery. he has changed my life drastically. He continues to assure me that there is more to come. I'm so glad that I came to see him...I just wish I knew about him earlier.

I was 34 years old when Dr. Goyal operated on me and since then I have lost 127 pounds. Dr. Goyal is excellent. I had 100% faith in him the first day we met. I would recommend him to anyone. He has great follow up care and he holds support groups every month...and he attends every one.

Dr. Goyal performed my surgery in May 2004, I got pregnant in August of 2004. Now it is 2006 and I am still continuing my weight loss. I started out at 228 pounds...now I have 15 more pounds to go to reach my goal. Right now I weigh 140. Dr. Goyal is a very dedicated and very caring doctor before, during, and after surgery. He really helped to carefully monitor my pregnancy even though it is not his field...he always made sure that everything was okay.

My first impression of Dr. Goyal is that he likes to let his patients do the talking. He is very serious about weight loss and he doesn't want his patients to take the surgery lightly. My impressions of him changed as we had more meetings and was able to meet some of his patients. I found him to be very dedicated about the overall care of his patients. It doesn't stop after the surgery. He is at support meetings, you can speak to him if you need advice or support and he does the best he can to make sure you get the help you need. His future patients should know that he and his staff work hard to help you. However you have to be willing to help yourself by going to your appointments and being honest with your doctors.

My first impression of Dr. Goyal was great. He was very open with me and as funnny as ever. My impressions have not changed much. I enjoy being under his care. His office staff was very nice and helpful to me. They were able to answer any questions I had and assisted me in any way they could. Future patients should know that he is very forthcoming and honest . He will not lie to you about anything that could or would take place after surgery. He emphasizes after-care to the 100th degree and really does expect you to hold up your end of the bargain. His aftercare program is very structured. He gives appointments frequently to make sure you are doing well. I would rate Dr. Goyal a ten. Both his surgical competence and bedside manner are great.

Dr. Goyal is devoted to his work/art. He is very straight forward and you will not be disappointed in his patience and aftercare. Why he even goes to the support groups! Amazing! Totally devoted! You will not be sorry you picked him! His office staff is wonderful. They are very big on confidentiality, so you won’t see your information floating about and they won’t even discuss anything over the phone if they are not in a private setting. So Ladies/Gentlemen please feel secure that no one else will even know you went to them.

Dr.Goyal was referred to me by a patient of his, she was an old high school friend of mines. She told about her wonderful experience with Dr.Goyal and his staff and how it changed her life. I decided then to do some research on him. Everyone had positive things to say. That’s when I made the first attempt to try to get my life back. I went to one of his patient seminar everything was broken down in a way everyone could understand all the pros and cons of weight lost surgery and how it will better your life ,that’s when I said I want to go for it and this is for me. My first appt. I was a little nervous but the staff made me feel so comfortable and that made me feel at ease. Dr. Goyal is a great doctor before and after surgery he was wonderful.

I met Dr.Goyal during a educational seminar about gastric bypass surgery. Dr. Goyal's presentation was well organized and professional. During the course of the evening Dr. Goyal patiently walked everyone through all of the surgical options, fully answered questions and respectfully dealt with the confused. My overall impression of Dr. Goyal was that he is proficient and high energy; his staff is equally matched and very understanding. My first visit went very well. I left Dr, Goyal's office confident and hopeful. I attended the support group of Dr. Goyal's strongest team members, his patients. All of Dr. Goyal's patients have the highest regard for him, an honor one can only earn. My experience at the support group reaffirmed what i already knew in my heart, that I would be in good hands with Dr. Goyal and his very competent staff. Dr. Goyal's pre & post operative program is well structured and mandatory however, it is not inflexible or lacking in the personal touch. All aspects of my surgery including risk factors were clearly addressed and discussed. I never once felt patronized or uncomfortable during any of my visits. On December 27 2004 Dr. Goyal Laparoscopically implanted my adjustable band without a single complication. Before and after the surgery. Dr. Goyal made time to visit me and answer any questions I had while guiding me threw the recovery process. I never once doubted Dr. Goyal's ability to perform under difficult circumstances should the you know what hit the fan. I have decided the only thing that could surpass his bedside manner is his precision work. I am a month post-op and could not be any happier with my surgical experience. I am very blessed to be part of the NJ Bariatric Center.

Once we were done speaking and he explained all there is to know about WLS I knew I wanted him to do my surgery. I had researched many surgeons before him and actually went to him because a friend of mine (estrella, love ya girl!) told me about him. His current staff is pretty good. They are always nice when you call.  Dr.Goyal lets you know from day one the risks involved with this surgery as well as the benefits of it. The day of surgery I was a bit nervous and seeing him in his scrubs ready to cut me open I thought " I trust him" Dr. Goyal went to see me everyday at the hospital and always calls back when you page him.

I was impressed with his knowledge, his experience, his attentiveness toward me and the other potential patients, and his personality. Dr. Goyal made me feel comfortable and that the decision I made is for the rest of my life and not to abuse it. My impression changed to be more fonder of my doctor and to thank him more and more. The staff is very nice and concerned about their patients. Very friendly which is very important. And, they work with you regarding the insurance matters, if any. Future patients will be very pleased on their first visit with Dr. Goyal and his staff from the office to the medical staff in the hospital. On a scale of 1 to 100 they are all above a 100.

After my first office visit, I knew he was a good surgeon. He had complete knowledge and I felt confident he was the Surgeon to perform my surgery. His staff was the best, I did not have to do anything with the insurance company, and they took care of it all! They were prompt in answering all my questions. I have not one thing to comment regarding this. He is great! He is a perfectionist, and I would not want anything less operating on me. He has excellent after care ... he has support group meetings every month, and keeps you informed of web sites like this.

Dr. Goyal gave me a great first impression. He seemed genuinely concerned, he answered all my questions, never rushing me and took his time making sure I understood every aspect of the surgery. My feelings towards the doctor & staff only got better over time. They were very helpful. I went through a difficult time after the surgery due to the day after I came home from the hospital, my mother passed away from a long-term illness. I hurt myself getting into the car on the day I buried my mother. I called the doctor's office, got an emergency appointment & went for x-rays to make sure everything was ok-which it was-only a pulled muscle. The point is the quality of care is excellent. He always makes me feel that he truly cares about his patients. I feel that Dr. Goyal has the best.

Dr. Goyal is one of the best bariatric surgeons around. I'd heard of him from other people who'd had the surgery and it was all good. His staff goes the extra mile and helps you every step of the way. The pre and post-operative care was truly personalized. There are pre surgery seminars, which answers a lot of questions as well as monthly support group meetings. If anyone is considering bypass or banding I'd wholly recommend Dr. Goyal.

At first I thought he was way to serious ! As time went on during the process, I was amazed at how much he cared about my safety, and was not just interested in rushing into surgery. His staff is friendly, and makes you feel at ease. They are very helpful with the pre-surgery as well as post surgery process. I could never say anything negative about Dr. Goyal, as far as I am concerned, he gave me a second chance at life.  He’s always encouraging, supportive and just plain kind. Dr. Goyal has a great support group that meets once a month. He attends, as well as a nutritionist and a psychologist. It helps to get to know other people who have gone through the surgery too.
